Biographical Note

Alper Yurttas graduated from Istanbul University’s Department of Communication with a bachelor’s degree in 2006 and went on to receive his master’s degree in Public Administration in 2009.

Alper completed his PhD in 2019 at Istanbul University’s Institute of Social Sciences, Department of European Union with his thesis entitled “Lobbying Activities During The EU Membership Process of Turkey”. He has been working as the office manager at ITU’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He has successfully completed three Erasmus Plus projects with an additional two ongoing. He is also guest lecturer in the Humanities and Social Sciences Department.

Alper is coordinating the Jean Monnet Module entitled “EU Integration and Turkey – Integreutor”. His research area includes EU-Turkey relations, political communication, and science diplomacy.

In 2023, Alper was awarded a grant by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TUBITAK) to conduct his postdoctoral research on science diplomacy under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maria Rentetzi at the Chair of Science, Technology and Gender Studies (STGS) at FAU.
